This paper describes a significant meeting between the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, and the President of China, Xi Jinping, on May 14, 2026, in Beijing. Although in the past, Trump was very critical of China and imposed heavy trade duties on China, now he has shown some gestures of being friendly toward him in his welcome address. The key areas covered by Trump and Xi included the trade war, Taiwan, and the war in Iran, which has disrupted international maritime passages. China has faced a lot of problems within itself, but it took advantage of this meeting to showcase its global strength.
